As part of the 2026 National Nursing Week theme The Power of Nurses to Transform Health, CASN invites you to a timely webinar featuring Dr. Leigh Chapman, Canada’s Chief Nursing Officer, and Amanda Egert, PhD in Nursing student at Trinity Western University and Associate Dean at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Together, they will discuss how decentralized nursing education can advance equity across Canada’s health care system.

Enabling learners to learn where they live is a powerful strategy for strengthening nursing education and building a sustainable workforce—particularly in rural and remote communities. This webinar will highlight key insights on the current landscape of decentralized nursing education in Canada and identify emerging opportunities for its support and sustainability. Time is planned for discussion and engagement in a national conversation on this topic.
